Denise Mack - In the MN State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition!

 I'm thrilled to be a part of the 2012 MN State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition - in it's 101st year! 

The above photograph, titled "Pregnancy Glow", has been selected for display in the 

2012 MN State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition. 

Per this year's Fine Arts Exhibition Catalog:
"Each year more than 250,000 people attend the Fine Arts Exhibition at the Fair, making it the the third-most-visited museum or gallery space in Minnesota." 

There were 2,011 entries submitted to the juried competition, and 345 pieces were chosen to be presented in this years MN State Fair Fine Arts Exhibition.

This year's Photography Judge, Chuck Avery, is quoted in the Catalog with the following Criteria Statement: "Minnesota has a rich tradition of photographic excellence (Szarkowski, Leibling, Arndt, Soth, etc). In the judging this year, I have looked for images that exemplify those standards of quality, innovation, and addressing contemporary concerns. The images I have chosen vary in their language, but all have their story to tell. Many articulate the experience of living in Minnesota, a few speak of the inner world, and some talk of planetary concerns. All of the photographs, however, communicate with a strong sense of beauty."
